Vision Mixer & Video Playback Operator

In 2012 I volunteered to take part in the London Olympic and Paralympic games as a Vision Mixer and a Video Playback Operator. I worked on the Judo, Wrestling and Boccia.

As a VPO, it was my duty to use a software called ProPresenter to organise various Stings, Colourways, Holding Logo's, and Animated Backgrounds. The VT Editor will send over completed VT's to me, which I then arranged in ProPresenter according to the running order for that day.

As a Vision Mixer, I was in charge of cutting to the relevant camera, frame or VT communicated to me by my Producer/Director. This was the first time I's taken on the role of a Vision Mixer professionally, and although it took me a while to get the hang of it and the experience itself was quite a stressful one, I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of a supportive team which became my family for the duration of the Olympic Games.

I worked long days,  being on site at 6AM and finishing for the day between 5-7pm. Working at the Olympics is an experience that I will never forget and it will forever be one of my greatest achievement.
